Synopsis
Production 149.png
IMG_0230.HEIC

Adapted from the three-time-Tony-nominated Broadway hit, A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS brims joyfully with a jazzy, upbeat score that bubbles with melody. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, this show tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.

A Year With Frog and Toad KIDS follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog, and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way - including the importance of being yourself and eating cookies! Throughout the year, two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Their friends and neighbors all join in the fun as well, including gossipy Turtle, practical Mouse, sassy Birds, and the determined mail-delivering Snails.

A fun-filled, joyful show, A Year With Frog and Toad KIDS is beloved by performers and audience members alike. We can't wait to share it with you!

Character Descriptions

Frog - A friendly, confidant, positive and caring character, Frog always seems comfortable solving Toad's problems and reacting to Toad's traumas. A truly unique character and loyal friend, Frog is fun-loving and caring.

Vocal RangeB3 - D5

Toad - Serious, irritable, self-conscious yet an oddly charismatic character, Toad is the perfect compliment to the sometimes-flighty Frog.  A loyal and caring friend, Toad relishes his "tight yet quirky" friendship with Frog.

Vocal RangeBb3 - D5

Turtle - A "rabble-rouser" Turtle loves to get the whole gang to tease Toad in fun! Turtle is often seen with pals Mouse and Lizard, and is quite the comedian.

Vocal RangeB3 - C5

Mouse - A practical and helpful friend, Mouse asks all the right questions like a talk-show host. Often seen with pals Turtle and Lizard, Mouse has a more mature/dry sense of humor.

Vocal Range: B3 - C5

Lizard - Occasionally confused, but always determined to have a good time, Lizard pals around with Turtle and Mouse - even when not sure what's happening!

Vocal Range: B3 - C5

The Snails - Simply unflappable, the Snails will deliver without fail "in the rain or sleet or snow." These determined Snails have great personality and provide fantastic comic relief!

Vocal RangeC4 - D5

The Birds - Responsible for communicating the passage of time & seasons, the Birds set the stage. With a little bit of sass and lots of singing, these "show-hosts" keep the story moving.

Vocal Range: B3 - D5

The Moles - With expressive faces and angelic voices,  the Moles thread through the various seasons in fun and unique ways.

Vocal Range: Bb3 - D5

The Squirrels - Full of mischief and movement, the Squirrels make a wonderful foil for Frog & Toad. Playful, chipper, and quick-talking, the Squirrels provide fantastic contrast within the story.

Vocal RangeBb3 - C5
